Great Singapore Sale!!!!!.

                        Great Singapore Sale

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caPIEaJv_l0

The Great Singapore Sale (often abbreviated as GSS or Chinese: 新加坡热卖会) is Singapore’s most anticipated shopping extravaganza, initially started at 2005. It is an annual shopping event in Singapore around June to July, lasting for about one and a half month. To us, this period of time is not even enough for us to complete our shoppings!
During this period, Singapore transforms into a true shopaholics paradise. You can enjoy up to 70% discount for all kind of products like Fashion and Accessories, Magazines & Books, Home Furnishing, Consumer Electronics. These discounts even apply to some of the big brands such as Comme des Garcons, Donna Karan, Jil Sander, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten, Balenciaga! Moreover, many major stores and malls in the country will extend their operation hours till 12 midnight! Shoppers can shop from morning to morning! Can you believe that? This brings a deeper meaning to the phrase "Shop till you drop!"
Most importantly, this event focuses on tourists, thus there will be special privileges, created for tourists to enjoy the range of exclusive promotions. Some examples are gourmet dining, wellness experience, and nightlife & entertainment activities. So tourists are not limited to just shopping only.

GSS tips:

1.   Tourists should apply for a Tourist Privilege Card in any Singapore Visitor Centre to enjoy special discounts from all range of goods such as watches, electronic goods, cosmetics and fragrances, children toys Singapore souvenirs. In addition, Tourist Privilege Card gets discount for local attractions such as the DHL Balloon, Singapore DUCK tours and the Singapore Zoo. Therefore, tourists can enjoy the attractions while doing their shopping.
2.   Chinese tourists should not forget to use your Union Pay card, which brings even more discounts!
3.   Bring alone your Masters Card, more surprises are in store for you!
4.   Do go to the neighbourhood malls too! There are always more discounts and even some rare items which may not be found in the main shopping belts!
With the high success of this event, more and more shops, malls and retails are joining this event yearly! Be ready to expect more and more discounts and special stuff to purchase in Singapore during the Great Singapore Sale!
So,get ready your shopping lists and  wait for the next Great Singapore Sale which is coming your way from 28 May to 25 July 2010. So mark these dates down on your calendar!!

You can find out the list of participating shops, information on the promotions and other details for the GSS 2010 at the official website http://www.greatsingaporesale.com.sg/

THEMES

-----‘A Christmas All Decked Out’
This year the Orchard Road Christmas light-up is themed ‘A Christmas All Decked Out’. The shopping paradise is transformed into a Christmas wonderland which includes familiar Christmas icons like baubles, holly and of course, Santa Claus. There are 3 different coloured zones altogether and the design of each zone within Orchard Road focuses on a key Christmas icon.

-----‘A Glitzy Christmas by the Bay’
Down to Marina Bay, the light-up this year is 3.7km long. The theme here is different from Orchard Road, themed ‘A Glitzy Christmas by the Bay’. It break away from Christmas tradition where Red and Green are the main themes. This year, inspiration for the theme was drawn from the mythological story of King Midas, who turned all that he touched into gold. You will get a waterfront treat with oceanic design elements such as waves and clam shells.
